2017 is in bottle!
Prior to bottling, our production team was busy getting everything in place to ensure the wine's long term success! It is always an anxious time for our team, as we all want to see the wines we have been laboring over, put safely into bottle. We just have to remember to keep working with the same intense focus and precision in order to shepherd the wines over the finish line.
Overall, bottling went pretty smoothly this year! There was a last minute scare when a portion of the bottles arrived only a couple of days before we were scheduled to start; however, thanks to the extreme organization of Thomas (Winemaker) and Kim (Assistant Winemaker), we were able to stick to our original bottling timeline. Josh, with Casteel Custom Bottling, was amazing! He helped our team with every aspect of the process...which was not easy considering the amount of various bottles, corks, capsules, etc. that there were. It took our crew a day or two to get in sync, but they quickly learned and ended up working faster than expected, finishing early on several days!
Bottling is all about repetition, problem solving on the fly, and having the discipline to accomplish our goal in the time frame given. There are always going to be moments of panic and doubt when looking at the sheer size of the task, but as our bottling guru, Josh, often reminded us “It’s just bottling.”
Our team is thrilled to share these wines with the world. They will be available to our Club Members on February 26th and the rest of the world on April 1st.

Welcome to our Journal!
It is a New Year and as the sun's warm rays attempt to cut through the chill of winter, we are thrilled to introduce you to the fresh new face of linguafranca.wine!
With the cosmetic changes comes an abundance of wonderful new features as well, such as, a clean and organized layout of our Wines to make for easy navigation and shopping, a Calendar of Events that we are hosting locally and throughout the country, new Member Portals for our Wine Club, and our Lingua Franca Journal! It is the best way to stay up to date with all of the behind the scenes action happening in and around the winery.
